Richard has been in Engineering and Consulting practice for almost 30 years in the local and international oil and gas and telecommunications industries. He has extensive knowledge, skills, experience and expertise in Consulting Engineering in areas such as Technology Evaluation and Selection, Control Systems and Instrumentation, Manufacturing Automation, Upstream Oil and Gas Engineering, Telecommunications, Information Technology, Construction Engineering, Surveying and Mapping, Power Systems, Security and CCTV Engineering.

He has extensive experience in Commercial Negotiations, Business Development, Start Up Evaluation, Business Case Preparation, Financial Analysis, and Programme Management of local and expatriate professional, technical and artisanal teams and complex multi-disciplinary projects and contracts involving multinational corporations.

Richard is a former National Additional Scholarship winner and a Canadian Commonwealth Scholar.

Richard holds a Bachelor of Science degree with First Class Honours in Electrical and Computer Engineering from The University of the West Indies. He has a Masters of Science degree in Computer Science and Systems from McMaster University, Ontario, Canada, and a Masters of Business Administration in Negotiations from Heriot Watt University.

Richard is a Registered Professional Engineer with the Board of Engineering of Trinidad and Tobago, and a Senior Member of both the Association of Professional Engineers of Trinidad and Tobago (APETT), and the international organisation, the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers (IEEE). He is the current Trinidad and Tobago Section Chairman of the IEEE.

He has been previously listed in Who’s Who in the World for his work in the field of Control Systems Engineering.
